Bukittinggi is just about 2 hours (75km) drive from Padang Airport (Bandara International Minangkabau).

Jam Gadang (Clock Tower) Bukittinggi

The “Jam Gadang” (litt: Big Clock) has become the major icon of Bukittinggi town since it was strongly built in 1926 and erected stood still.

Ngarai Sianok (Sianok Canyon)

Visiting Bukittinggi itself without dropping off at Sianok Canyon would be so irrationally not funny and incredibly unacceptable.
As Sianok Canyon is the Landmark of Bukittinggi town and it is indeed a must to visit as well as enjoying the fascinating natural panoramic landscape of the canyon itself.

Gunung Marapi (Volcano)

It is only about 10km away (20minutes drive), around 2.900m ABSL situated  in south east of Bukittinggi.
Marapi has become one of the most popular volcanoes for the volcano climbers in Indonesia.
Some people start the trip during the evening in order to reach the peak within 5 hours hike. As their main goal is to see the sunset from the peak of Marapi.

Rock Climbing

Steep rock cliffs are challenging for climbers of rock climbing sport. A local organization of climbing lovers regularly visits this place couple times in a year.

Travellers who are interested may also try this sport to test their adrenaline. Especially those who are new to this extreme sport surely will be guided by a well experienced  instructor. Why not give a try then... Never Try.... Never Know... ;-)
